Canton Drop Forge at Gear Expo 2017
For over two decades, Gear Expo – one of the world’s leading drive technology shows – has served as a premiere showcase for the newest in drive technology. Gear Expo 2017 will prove to be the biggest yet, as industry experts from all over the world come together in Columbus from October 24th to the 26th to share information, make connections and build the relationships that will continue to push drive technology forward. Specialists from the aerospace, automotive, agriculture and construction industries – just to name a few – will be sending their best and brightest to examine the 750,000 pounds of machinery on display at the show floor and to discuss how that machinery can be best used by their organizations. Owners, engineers, designers, buyers and manufacturers will all come together for this exciting and informative exposition, an industry-defining event that Canton Drop Forge will be proudly participating in.
Come visit us at booth 631 to see for yourself the difference that closed-die forging can make. One of the aspects of the Gear Expo that we’re most excited by is the power it gives attendees to test vendor machinery before partnering with them. We’re excited by this because we believe that our components can go up against any in the industry, and we look forward to showing off their durability and capability to experts and specialists from all over the world. Specifically, we’ll be displaying gears meant for off-highway and wind power applications and we’ll also be leading discussions on forging custom projects for the mining, aerospace, oil and gas, locomotive, off-highway, and wind power industries.
Registration and Travel
Though the weekend of the expo is fast approaching, you and your business can still take advantage of early bird registration fees until October 20th. Individual entry into the convention center is only $25 dollars and discounts are available for large groups. As with any other convention, though, it’s best not to wait until the last moment to register; if only because you want to be sure that there’ll be a hotel room available for you when you do. Gear Expo 2017 has partnered with three local hotels to provide discounted rates for conference goers, each one located in the heart of vibrant and exciting downtown Columbus.
If you’ve never been to the capital city of Ohio before, you may be surprised by just how much this growing city has to offer. It’s not difficult to see why J.D. Power named Columbus the city with the “Highest Visitor Satisfaction in the Midwest”; in addition to prominent green spaces and lively nightlife, Columbus also offers centers of science and industry that rival those of much larger cities. One such location – appropriately named the Center of Science and Industry, or COSI – offers a variety of exhibits ranging from biology to astronomy along with a planetarium, an IMAX theater and a motion simulator for the thrillseekers amongst your group.
There are also dining options available to fit every palate. Right across from the recently-renovated Greater Columbus Convention Center sits the historic North Market, a public market that has served the citizens of the city for over 140 years. Its 35 vendors offer everything from sushi to fresh pasta, from kosher cold cuts to chicken and waffles. Stop by on Saturday morning starting at 8 AM to experience the Farmer’s Market, where growers from all over the Midwest gather outside to show off and sell their wares. Maybe you’re more interested in a nice dinner after a long day on the floor. The Refectory is highly recommended for those who enjoy a little French flair; Third and Hollywood offers all the flavor of fine dining with none of the stuffiness, and Mitchell’s Ocean Club serves up fresher seafood than you thought a landlocked city capable of offering.
We hope that you’ll join us at Gear Expo 2017. Though we’re looking forward to all the exhibits and events, what we most enjoy is meeting those passionate about drive technology and learning from them. Remember to stop by booth 631 to visit our display, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the expo or about how you can put our closed die-forging capabilities to work for your business.
